It’s Photo Season Again!

Spring has arrived, the weather is starting to get warmer (or at least it’s trying), and it’s time for photography again! I’m usually on a photo break during the winter, but spring always brings me back! I usually start taking random shots in the yard as soon as it gets warm and often photograph tulips or other flowers in my studio as soon as they start appearing in stores. That happened early this year – Sally bought me some before we left for our cruise in February, and I had a chance to setup my dining room studio and experiment with a dual flash setup and my Z8’s Focus Shift and Pixel Shift capabilities. I also brought a camera on the cruise and snagged some great photos of tropical birds

Photo season also lines up nicely with bonus season, which usually involves buying some gear. I don’t need much other than lenses, so I’m updating my “lens wish list”, reading / watching reviews, and looking at the used market to see if there are any good deals. I don’t have any major investments planned, but if I can score something at a good price, I will. Typically equipment goes on sale for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, and every other holiday. There were some sales on Z mount lenses I missed last year waiting for the Z8 to be announced and shipped, so I’m hoping for something similar this year.

To celebrate Spring, here are some of those tulips.
