I’m Jason Taylor. I’m in my thirties and am a Technologist at Liberty Mutual in New Hampshire. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. I was born on November 27, 1984 (feel free to send presents on Thanksgiving) at Pease Air Force Base, Portsmouth New Hampshire to John and Charlene Taylor. I have a sister, Christine, who lives with her husband Gerard and their three little tykes: my nephew Joseph, my niece Breana, my niece Hailey, and my nephew Dominic.

I share a home in Dover with my wife Sally, our twin boys Adam and Zach, our Miniature Dachshund Holly, and our two cats Sonny and Cher.

Sally graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies. She also holds an Associate’s Degree in Business, an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, and an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology from New Hampshire Community Technical College in Stratham. We lived together since I started college and we bought our first home in October of 2008 – four days before our wedding. We have been dating since my sophomore year of High School (her junior year) which makes it a long time. Our dating anniversary is on July fourth and our marriage anniversary is on October 4.

I work at Liberty Mutual as a Technologist in US Consumer Market Digital & Distribution. It is my first job out of college and I have been working there since June 2007. I’ve done a lot in the ten years that I’ve been there.  I’ve worked in six different departments, joined the Technical Development Program, took a six month assignment in L.A. and Seattle, and now I work on one of our internal teams.

I’ve been a photographer since my sophomore year of high school. I started out in my News and Photo class on a manual focus SLR camera with black and white film. I rolled the film myself, developed it, and made the prints. I have loved photography ever since. I graduated to an auto focus camera the summer of my senior year, but still have a manual camera around for fun. In the spirit of my photographic roots, I now roll my own black and white film and develop it in the darkroom that I have set up in my cellar. I like to photograph in black and white, but also photograph in color when the subject matter is appropriate. I own a digital SLR, which I use as often as I can.

My ultimate dream is to own my own consumer software company. I’d settle for management at a cool company such as Apple, but ultimately I want to run the whole show. I am interested in writing consumer software, maybe even an operating system. I am very intersted in interfaces, specifically graphical ones. I want to make well organized, easy to use software. I have written applications for the Mac in the past and would like to get back into it; maybe I’ll write something for the iPhone or iPad.

I am an avid Mac user and fan, but I’m not a typical Mac “Zealot”. I praise Apple when they do things that I feel are good, and criticize them when they make decisions that I feel are not in their best interests or the interests of their customers. I own lots of Apple products including iPods, an iPhone, an iPad, an iMac, a MacBook Pro, and even an Apple router.
