What I’m Listening To: Simple Beep

I discovered Simple Beep from an article on 512 Pixels about the iMac G3. It’s a podcast that ran from 2014 to 2021 covering the history of the Macintosh. I started listening from the beginning, learning and reminiscing about the Macintosh startup sound, Hyper Card, Kaleidoscope, At Ease, Apple keyboards, the early internet, icons, Adium, and the history of iTunes.

I’ve been looking for an Apple / Mac / Computing history podcast to listen to in the background and this definitely fits the bill. While I have occasional accuracy disagreements with the hosts, overall it’s an informative look at the Mac I know and love. Each show includes detailed show notes that link to interesting items that I wasn’t even aware of in some cases.

Verdict: Listen if you need a filler and have an interest in computing history
