Monday 5/18
Rough start back to school. Afternoon was better. Boys enjoyed the bounce house. Weather was nice, but didn’t leave the yard. Took photos of tulips in the setting sun. Very cool. Hamburgers for dinner. The grass behind the kitchen is starting to grow, hurrah!
Tuesday 5/19
Left the yard a couple of times to walk the street in front of the house while the boys played in the bounce house. Otherwise stayed home. Nikon D100 arrived today. Answered questions for coworkers about my high-quality, low-cost sit/stand desk from Autonomous AI. Sally ordered pizza. I cooked a sausage from Tendercrop farm. Read copies of Popular Photography from 2007 while I ate. Took photos of my cameras using my Flashery light box. Put my 90mm Macro on my D750, mounted on a tripod, manual exposure 8 seconds at f/16, ISO 400. Should be pretty sharp.
Wednesday 5/20
Meetings for most of the day. Boys went to GiGis for the afternoon. Steak for dinner. Sally had PTG from 6:30 – 8 and work from 8:30 – 10. Boys played in the bounce house while I watered the grass. We came in around 7 and played with Legos upstairs. Finished my D2Xs mega review.
Thursday 5/21 – Monday 5/25
I forgot to fill out my journal but I took more photos and enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend. We spent time outside in the beautiful weather doing projects around the yard while the boys played. We ventured to Home Depot to buy supplies so I could raise our rain bucket up (more gravity, better flow) and Sally could put a nice crushed rock border around our newly-installed dining room trim. I also filled in the hole left last year after our front stoop was removed. Grass is now planted instead of sand.
We went out to Wentworth Greenhouses on Monday to purchase more flowers for me to photograph and Sally to take care of. We got a ton of stuff including dahlias, marigolds, and really cool Fucshia Dark Eyes.
Tuesday 5/26 – Friday 5/29
All the days have been blurring together. The weather has warmed up like crazy. We went from being unseasonably cold (40s and 50s) two weeks ago to being unseasonably hot (80s and 90s). Welcome to New England (and climate change). At least it’s been breezy out and the evenings have been nice other than absolutely destroying our new flowers.
