I love peanut butter. Peanut butter shakes, peanut butter ice cream, peanut butter sandwiches, peanut butter noodles, peanut butter peanut butter – you name it –peanut butter is my bacon. Not only is peanut butter delicious, it’s also pretty healthy. It has a lot of protein. Ok, so it’s not totally healthy because you can’t get the protein without a significant amount of fat. But all of that changed when I discovered powdered peanut butter.
It’s called PB2 and you can get it from bellplantation.com. What they do is press the absolute daylights out of peanuts until all of the oil is gone and all that is left is peanut butter. They put it into jars and vacuum bags and send it out. You can mix it with water and a bit of salt to make your own peanut butter spread or mix it directly into other foods (such as ice cream – mmmmmmm!) The best part is that with all of the peanut oil gone, 2 tbsp is only 45 calories (13 from fat) and 0g saturated fat. Compare that to the same amount of peanut butter which has 190 calories (130 from fat) and 3g saturated fat. And it actually tastes good! I’m not kidding. It’s amazing. It costs about 6.79 a pound and can be purchased from their online store. Try it!
